In 1972, nearly twenty-five years before the formation of MFAR, Dr P Mohamed Ali co-founded Oman’s first construction engineering company in the private sector, GALFAR, along with two partners. Dr Ali took it upon himself to find opportunity in the country’s feverish pace of infrastructure expansion and single-handedly steered the small construction firm to astonishing heights. Today GALFAR Engineering & Contracting SAOG is Oman’s largest listed construction company with EPC capability. The GALFAR Group works in the domains of infrastructural development, oil & gas, heavy equipment, electrical & instrumentation, wastewater management, hospitality and education.

Over the last half-century, GALFAR has established itself as the ‘Preferred Partner in Development’ in Oman with a turnover of nearly USD 1 Billion. The company prides itself on being the largest private-sector company and employer in Oman.

MFAR thus benefits from the expertise and organisational abilities honed by Dr Ali and his organisations. MFAR today has several group companies under its wing: MFAR Constructions, MFAR Developers, MFAR Hospitality and MFAR Carbon, headquartered at Bengaluru, India.

MFAR has today emerged with a presence in India and South Asia.
